This time around OnePlus is expected to try something different and release three new models; the standard OnePlus 7, the OnePlus 7 Pro, and a 5G model that’s allegedly named OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. Over the last few days, the OnePlus 7 Pro has hogged the most limelight, but a tipster now has some new scoop on the regular version. The information states that the standard edition of the OnePlus 7 might also feature a 90Hz refresh rate, but there are other changes that we should expect from the cheaper model.

OnePlus 7 Display Might Feature Lower Peak Brightness to Save up on Costs – Won’t Feature Triple Rear Camera

According to Ishan Agarwal, who is known for leaking information concerning OnePlus, tweets but warns in advanced related to the following being unverified details. The standard variant is also expected to come with a 90Hz display, albeit one that doesn’t curve and has a lower peak brightness. Previously, the company’s CEO Pete Lau had said that OnePlus has increased its expenditure on display threefold for the upcoming generation and that the new panels would set a new benchmark for mobile screens.

The latest report also alleges that the OnePlus 7 will have a dual camera setup, consisting of a 48MP sensor and a 24MP camera. The phone is also tipped to come with fast charging but no specifics were given. As for the design, the latest leak says that the OnePlus 7 will be a splitting image of the renders posted by OnLeaks, which means that we can expect it to have a water drop notch. The OnePlus 7 Pro, on the other hand, is tipped to come with a pop-up selfie camera.

As a reminder, the disclaimer here is that the report comes from unconfirmed sources, so it’s best to not read too much into it until and unless there is concrete evidence that the OnePlus 7 will feature those specifications. Our belief is that the OnePlus 7 will be slightly costlier than the OnePlus 6T, which is no surprise. Given that OnePlus has established itself as a renowned brand, it will need to up the prices in order to have additional funds for broader campaigns, and fulfilling its ambitions to target different markets.
