Shaky OnePlus 7 Pro Screen Protector Shows An Odd Protrusion

OnePlus 7 Pro specs 90Hz display

When we talk of physical leaks, not many have taken place for the OnePlus 7 or the OnePlus 7 Pro. This is in contrast to Samsung’s Galaxy S10 lineup, which was the center of several component and prototype leaks earlier this year. But, OnePlus’ gadgets aren’t known for their leaks, and instead, the company has always shared information for upcoming devices before they’re launched. However, this doesn’t mean that leaks do not take place at all, as we’ve got one of these today. Head over below for more details.

OnePlus 7 Pro’s Alleged Screen Protector Leak Shows A Pop Up Front Camera Sensor

While the giants such as Apple and Samsung take it slow, other smartphone manufacturers are quick and eager to launch new features on their gadgets. A shift in the gadget world over the past year has been the migration to displays that are nearly bezel-free. While such displays are aesthetically pleasing, they bring with them a new set of problems. One such problem relates to front camera sensors – as a display’s bezels are gone, manufacturers find it difficult to accommodate the lenses.

One workaround for this is to use a notch as Apple does. The other is to use a mechanism – whether it’s a sliding one as found on Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 3, or a pop-up camera sensor as found on some of Oppo’s smartphones. Now, in a leak that corroborates earlier reports, we have fresh reasons to believe that the OnePlus 7 Pro will also feature a pop-up front camera sensor.

We’ve got a fresh leak today from the aggregation forum /leaks. It claims to show screen protectors for the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro. At the top of the protector, you can see that the appendage for a pop up front camera is present. This is interesting, as screen protectors for the Oppo F11 Pro do not have a similar protuberance jutting out of the main display area. After all, a pop-up front camera is protected from the elements in most cases and therefore, there’s no need for a protector to ‘protect’ this sensor.

This fact then makes us doubted the authenticity of today’s leak. While there’s a high likelihood that the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will feature pop-up front cameras, it’s unlikely that the smartphones will have screen protectors such as the one shown above. Or we could be mistaken and the protrusion above is simply a sticker that’s meant to make the application of the protector much easier. In any case, stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We’ll keep you updated on the latest.
