Rumor: AMD Navi Debuting at E3, Launching July 7 With RTX 2080 Class Performance

We’re getting closer to summer and the rumor-mill is heating up with whispers of AMD introducing its next generation family of 7nm based Navi gaming graphics cards at E3 with a hard launch less than a month later on the 7th of July.

That’s 7/7, if you missed it. There’s chatter that the company will be playing the 7nm card hard and that includes using the number 7 a LOT when talking about Navi. They say if you have it flaunt it, and that’s exactly what AMD intends to do.

So a quick breakdown of what AMD’s near-term roadmap looks like is this :
Radeon Navi Announcement in Los Angeles at E3 – 12-14 June
Radeon Navi hard launch – July 7th

NVIDIA isn’t standing still and is hard at work with its own 7nm based products, rumored to be called Ampere, which are expected to make an appearance sometime later this year. But as long as AMD has the 7nm advantage you can rest assured they will play it up.

With that being said, when we talked about Navi a few months back everything we heard pointed to it being a mainstream offering in terms of pricing and a high performer in terms of horsepower. How fast exactly, well what we had heard was to expect around RTX 2070 performance. But if the latest rumors are anything to go by, Navi could be even slightly faster than that and deliver close to RTX 2080 class performance.

Keep in mind however at this point in time these are just rumors that should definitely be taken with a grain of salt.

AMD’s Rumored Radeon Navi RX 3080, RX 3070 & RX 3060 Graphics Cards

According to previous rumors AMD is working on three different Radeon RX 3000 series graphics cards based on the 7nm Navi architecture. These are the RX 3080, 3070 and 3060 and they will target the mid-range and down in terms of price points.

These cards will be based on the Navi 10 GPU as well as a smaller variant called Navi 12. Navi 10 will allegedly power the RX 3080 which is rumored to be priced around $250 and deliver Vega 64 / GTX 1080 / RTX 2070 class performance. However if it ends up being faster we can also reasonably expect it to be more expensive, so don’t rule out a $300+ price point.  The Navi 12 powered RX 3070 and 3060 are expected to compete down the stack with NVIDIA’s current 1660 Ti and 1660.

Again, remember to take all of this with a grain of salt.
