Rage 2 may be mainly developed by Avalanche Studios (Just Cause, Mad Max), but it contains plenty of references to id Software’s glory days. The game will include a host of 90s-style cheat codes, and, as we see in new footage from IGN, the game will let you wield Doom’s infamous BFG 9000. We also get a look at some vehicular combat and intense gunplay in and around the game’s tropical biome. You can check out the footage for yourself, below.
Looking pretty solid! Definitely more interesting than the last couple Avalanche open world games, which are always well-built, but have a tendency to be a little dry. Haven’t been keeping up with Rage 2? Here’s Bethesda’s official rundown on the game:

Rage 2 unleashes its fury on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on May 14.
