OnePlus is nearing its first smartphone launch of the year and if the rumors are to be believed, we can see the OnePlus 7 arrive as soon as next month. If there’s a standard version than there is most likely going to be an advanced version or the OnePlus 7 Pro, which we reported about earlier. There are expected to be a total of three models arriving later this year, including a 5G variant.
Thankfully, PriceBaba brought exclusive renders of the OnePlus 7 Standard Edition, and with the collaboration of notorious tipster @OnLeaks, we now get to show you guys a first look at the upcoming flagship. Unfortunately, what we were expecting was entirely different than what we’ve been hearing about from numerous leaks and rumors.
OnePlus 7 Standard Edition Takes All the Design Cues From OnePlus 6T – Adds Nothing New Besides a Unique Wallpaper
If you look at the renders, the model design looks similar to that of OnePlus 6T, following the same teardrop notch at the front. The back has a similar Mirror Black finish and the arrangement of the camera appears to be identical as well. We also want to add that while the previous rumors continued to state that the device would have a triple camera setup at the back, there’s just a dual camera located. It is suspected that with the similarities between the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 6T, the display of the Standard Version will also be FHD+, like that of its predecessors.
The dimensions of OnePlus 7 are said to be 157.7 x 74.8 x 8.1mm (9.5mm with camera module). Comparing with OnePlus 6T, it is just 0.1mm thicker and it is hoped that the battery will be slightly larger as well and if OnePlus is hearing our prayers, this version will introduce Qi wireless charging.
The rumored specifications include a Snapdragon 855 chipset and a 6GB of RAM for the base version. As for the OnePlus 7 Pro, we believe that will feature 10GB of RAM, a rear mounted triple camera setup and a pop-up selfie that we’ve seen and heard about incessantly. Both versions are expected to have an in-screen fingerprint scanner, according to the tipster. On the software side, the phone is rumored to run on the latest OxygenOS while the battery is said to be a hefty 4150mAh battery.
The 360-degree video is given below and if we were to add our initial first impressions, the OnePlus 7 wasn’t what we thought it was, and we are utterly disappointed. Hopefully, the company will have more to offer with the ‘Pro’ version, so let us keep our fingers crossed, and we’ll update you in the future.
