The OnePlus 7 Pro is going to be the more expensive brother of the regular OnePlus 7, with these two models and a single 5G variant expected to launch on May 14. This will be the first time the company introduces a feature-enriched version of its flagship range rather than just providing different RAM and internal storage tiers. Earlier rumors continued to spread about the OnePlus 7 Pro’s triple rear camera setup. We’d like to inform you that now, the company itself has confirmed this feature, and with these improvements, we should also expect a higher price tag.
OnePlus 7 Pro Triple Camera Expected to Be Equipped With Features Like 3x Optical Zoom, Custom Night Mode, and More
An official tweet shared by OnePlus on its Twitter handle reveals a triple camera setup at the back of a device, which is presumably the OnePlus 7 Pro. However, the company did not reveal the front part of the handset, most likely not wanting to give away the entire design of the device. Still, press renders have shown that the OnePlus 7 Pro will have a pop-up selfie camera similar to the Vivo NEX and we expect that a tiny motor will be outfitted in the module, lifting it up every time we fire up the camera application.
As for the triple camera setup at the back, the OnePlus 7 Pro is expected to feature a primary 48MP RGB sensor, coupled with a 24MP ultra-wide angle shooter, and an 8MP telephoto camera. According to previous rumors, the telephoto camera should be capable of 3x optical zoom and is expected to have an F/2.4 aperture. The combination of RGB + ultra-wide + telephoto sensors is exactly the same at the back of the Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10 Plus. The only question is, will it be as good? Looks like we’ll find out on May 14.

As for the 5G model, we believe it will share the same design as the OnePlus 7 Pro, with the only possible difference being is the presence of a 5G modem and an effective cooling solution to prevent the chip from overheating. All of these extra components naturally means the OnePlus 7 Pro is going to be more expensive than what you’re used to paying on OnePlus-branded handsets. However, the pricing shouldn’t reach to a point where customers believe they’re better off with a flagship from Samsung, LG, Huawei, or a different company.
