OnePlus 7 Pro’s Triple Rear Camera Setup Will Feature A 48MP Main Lens, 8MP Telephoto Lens And 16MP Ultra-Wide Lens
Rumors of OnePlus’ decision to diversify the smartphone lineup surfaced earlier this month when it was reported that the company would launch three new smartphones this year. Such a move will be a departure from the company’s tradition to keep it smooth and simple by launching one gadget each year that’s a blend of high-end specifications and a pocket-friendly price.
Today we’ve got a report from Max J of Samsung News who believes to have information for one of the three rumored OnePlus 7 variants. The device in question in the OnePlus 7 Pro, and according to Max, this device will feature three rear camera lenses. Out of these, the primary lens will have a 48MP resolution.
The company will also introduce an Ultra-Wide angle and Telephoto lens on the smartphone. Out of these, the former will have a 16MP resolution and a F/2.2 aperture width, while the latter will be able to capture 8MP with an F/2.4 aperture and 3x zoom. These features, when combined with an AMOLED display will drive up the bill of materials for the smartphone. In fact, if OnePlus does launch such a smartphone then the company’s days of attracting budget-conscious users might be behind it.
When we analyze reports that claim three new devices from the company later this year, it sounds as if OnePlus will try to keep its loyal fanbase hooked through options other than the OnePlus 7 Pro. Launching more gadgets will also allow the company to save costs through economies of scale, but the OnePlus 7 lineup‘s success will hinge on one critical factor. The company will need sufficient market interest in its higher-end smartphone variants to justify the decision of expanding its smartphone lineup; otherwise, OnePlus will have made an expensive gamble that will have landed it in an awkward position.
