NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti In The Works, ASUS Custom Models Listed – Will Also Feature 4 GB Memory, Aiming The Radeon RX 580 With 75W TDP

In a few days, NVIDIA will launch its GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card aimed at the entry-level GPU market but it won’t be the last GeForce 16 series card we get to see. There were previous rumors that a Ti variant would be in the works and the latest listings by the ECC has revealed that the GTX 1650 Ti does indeed exist and has several custom variants planned for a later launch.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Heading For Launch Soon, Custom Models Listed – Will Feature 4 GB GDDR5 VRAM, Aiming The AMD Radeon RX 580 With 75W TDP

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti will share lots of similarities with the GeForce GTX 1650 since they are based on the same TU117 GPU core. The main difference will reside in the core config on each card. The GeForce GTX 1650 uses a more cut down TU117 SKU while the GTX 1650 Ti would utilize a fully enabled chip.

We don’t have the specifications but based on what we are looking at on the GeForce GTX 1650, the GeForce GTX 1650 could feature 1024 CUDA Cores, 32 ROPs and 64 TMUs. The card would feature a 4 GB GDDR5 VRAM running across a 128-bit bus at the same 8000 MHz effective clock speeds, delivering bandwidth of 128 GB/s. Now the TDP on the GTX 1650 is set at 75W but we can also see a similar TDP for the GTX 1650 Ti. This has been the case with the previous GTX *50 series cards too with both Ti and non-TI variants featuring a similar TDP that doesn’t require an external power connector to boot.

But that doesn’t mean that the card won’t feature a PCI-e power connector at all. Most custom models of the GTX 1650 rock the power connector even though the GPU can be fed most of its required power through the PCIe slot. The extra power is made use of by enabling higher factory overclocks on the custom models. Talking about custom models, ASUS is working on many GTX 1650 Ti custom models which were listed on ECC (via Komachi). They include:

  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Dual
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Dual Advanced
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Dual Overclock
  • ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1650 Ti Gaming
  • ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1650 Ti Gaming Advanced
  • ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1650 TI Gaming Overclock
  • ASUS TUF GTX 1650 Ti Gaming

  • ASUS TUF GTX 1650 Ti Gaming Overclock
  • ASUS Phoenix GTX 1650 Ti Gaming
  • ASUS Phoenix GTX 1650 Ti Gaming Overclock
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Low Profile
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Low Profile Overclock

As you can see, there are definitely a lot of variants in the works over at ASUS for the upcoming GTX 1650 Ti graphics card. All of these models are 4 GB variants and they also exist for the GTX 1650 (Non-Ti). Talking about the GeForce GTX 1650 (Non-Ti), it seems like ASUS is also working on the 2 GB GDDR5 variants for it which may end up being priced around $129-$139 US for low-tier markets.

The GTX 1650 Ti on the other hand could cost anywhere between $179 US and $189 US since the $149 segment is already captured by the GTX 1650 and pricing the Ti close to $199 US won’t make any sense since that nears the GTX 1660 territory which is a much better purchase for that kind of money. The performance of the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti should exceed an RX 570 while coming in close to the RX 580 while sipping in much lower power. In the end, we have to wait a bit more to see the card in action.

Which new graphics card under $200 US is worth the price?
