Google Pixel 3a Leaks out Once More, but This Time in a Purple Variant

Previously shown leaked pictures of the Google Pixel 3a earlier display the smartphone to be available in the colors black and white. Reports had suggested that there would also be a third color variant, presumably iris and turns out those rumors had some weight to them, as a well-known leakster has now shared a picture of the handset in the brand new flavor.

Funnily enough, the image that our favorite leakster Evan Blass has shared of the alleged Pixel 3a barely looks purple but looking at the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3, it’s not surprising to see Google go for a faded color scheme again. The image also shows that the phone will have a yellow power button to make it easier for users to know which function they will trigger. A Google store leak had previously implicitly confirmed that the upcoming mid-rangers would indeed be called the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. A new ‘Avengers: Endgame’ themed teaser page also went live on Google Store recently, promoting the arrival of something big to the Pixel universe on May 7.

That is also the time when the search giant’s annual I/O conference is going to kick off and it’s very likely that the Pixel 3a and 3a XL would be unveiled then. The Pixel 3a will reportedly be fueled by the Snapdragon 670 SoC and accompanied by 4GB of RAM. The phone is tipped to sport a 5.6-inch OLED screen and feature a single 12MP rear camera that’s been reported to produce image quality similar to that of the Pixel 3. A 3000mAh battery would apparently power the show. The bigger, 6-inch Pixel 3a XL, on the other hand, will presumably be underpinned by the Snapdragon 710 SoC.

The phones are also tipped to come with the 3.5mm headphone jack, but to reduce costs, they will most likely come with less premium builds and will not support Qi wireless charging either. Although the pricing details of the phones have not been officially revealed yet, the Pixel 3a can cost anywhere between $400 and $500, while the Pixel 3a XL is expected to fetch a little more than $500. For those who have been eying the Pixel phones but the hefty price tag scared them off, the upcoming mid-rangers could be a worthy choice.
