The official Instagram app for Apple Watch is completely out of the picture, but Lens is a new app that fixes all the wrong and happens to be fully-featured as well.
If you recently jumped onboard the Apple Watch then you already know that there is no Instagram client on the wearable even if you have the app installed on your iPhone. This hasn’t always been the case. The app used to be there before Instagram pulled it and it was the most mundane Instagram experience on the Apple Watch at best. It allowed you to scroll through your feed, and that was pretty much it. In other words: it was useless at best. Now though, there is a new player in the wearable space in the Lens app for Apple Watch, and it’s the best client we’ve seen.
This app is so feature-rich that you’d expect that Instagram itself made it. But it hasn’t. Even still, Lens takes the experience to a whole new level on the watch since it does everything independently from iPhone, given you have a cellular model of the Apple Watch. You can comment on posts, like them, view videos, search for users, reply to direct messages and so much more. It’s a dream come true app for those that make do with the social network a lot.

The app is absolutely free to download and use but there is a $1.99 in-app purchase in order to unlock the ‘pro’ features of the app. Given what this app offers and with no official Instagram client in sight, we highly recommend giving this a spin. If you think you need more out of this app then you can always take the in-app purchase route to take things further.
