Amazon Key Is Now Available in More Cities Starting Today

On this very day last year, Amazon announced a ‘revolutionary’ way for users to get their packages delivered. Amazon had announced “In-Car delivery” for millions of Prime members with certain vehicles who take advantage of Amazon Key, which lets you receive packages in the trunk of your car. You will, however, require a special kit from Amazon if you want to use this facility. Rohit Shrivastava, GM of Key by Amazon said in a statement:

We know it is important to keep innovating to make delivery as convenient as possible for customers, which is why we’re excited to now have Key for Garage available. Today, we are thrilled to open Key by Amazon to millions of Prime members who can now have their Amazon packages delivered securely to their garages. With this new option, members can truly unlock the convenience of the Amazon experience.

While checking out, all you need do is select “In-Garage delivery” when you’re checking out. The kit lets you remotely check the status of your garage, even allowing you to open and close it when you’re away. You’ll need a myQ-enabled garage door and link your Amazon and myQ accounts in the Key by Amazon app.

You can also purchase the myQ Smart Garage Hub or a new myQ-connected Chamberlain or LiftMaster Wi-Fi garage door opener using this link. There is also the option to add connectivity to your existing garage door opener.

For those concerned about delivery drivers going through your garage, you can even add an Amazon Cloud Cam (Key Edition) to either kit. It lets you see your garage any time via the live stream or view clips of entries, including deliveries. Additionally, one can use Key for Garage to grant or revoke access to their garage via the Key by Amazon app.

Key by Amazon delivery is now available in 50 total U.S. cities and surrounding areas. Some of the new regions include Charlotte, NC; Columbus, OH; Fresno, CA; Grand Rapids, MI; Hartford, CT; Las Vegas, NV; Norfolk, VA; Oklahoma City, OK; Omaha, NE; Rochester, NY; Stockton, CA; Virginia Beach, VA; and Wilmington, DE.
