Yakuza Creators’ New Game Judgment Gets a Release Date, Digital Buyers Get Early Access

Get ready to dispense some justice, because it seems Judgment will be launching this summer. The latest game from the Yakuza development team, Judgment (originally Judge Eyes) combines the open-world brawling you know and love with some Ace-Attorney-style courtroom drama. An image promising a June release date and some early access details popped up on the Judgment PS4 Amazon page earlier today – they’ve since been yanked, indicating it was probably a leak, but, of course, the Internet never forgets. Dependable old Wario64 managed to save the details.

As you can see, the game comes with reversible cover art and a Ryu ga Gatoku Studio sticker. I have to say, that’s some pretty nice box art! According to Wario64, those who buy the digital version will be able to play a bit early on June 21.

Haven’t been keeping up with Judgment? Here’s the official rundown:

From the makers of the Yakuza series, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Judgment is the dramatic tale of a disgraced lawyer seeking redemption in a world rife with corruption and despair. Investigate the seedy Red Light District of Kamurocho by stepping into the mind of private detective Takayuki Yagami and utilize innovative investigation systems to uncover the secrets that lie deep within Kamurocho’s corrupt underbelly.

Experience visceral combat with two unique combat styles. Take down groups of thugs with sweeping blows in Crane Style, then switch to Tiger to overwhelm a single foe with a series of powerful strikes. Practice mixing-and-matching styles in combat in conjunction with a wide variety of skills, weapons, and powerful (and hilarious) EX Actions to unlock a whole new dimension in combat. Judgment marks the first time in over 12 years that a game set in the Yakuza series universe has received an English dub for its Western release, with a star-studded English voice cast bringing Judgment to life.

Judgment hits PS4 on June 25.
