Xbox One S All-Digital Edition To Release In May; Pre-orders To Open Next Month

Xbox One S All-Digital Edition

A new Xbox One S model called Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is apparently getting announced soon, and it may pave the way for a future console model without the disc drive, according to a report.

Windows Central reported today that Microsoft is ready to unveil the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition. This Xbox One S model will come without a disc drive, and it should release in early May.

Microsoft is reportedly set to call the discless Maverick console the “Xbox One S All-Digital Edition,” with preorders aiming for mid-April 2019, and with general availability coming in early May 2019. It looks as though it could be near-global simultaneous launch for almost all existing Xbox markets.

Additionally, it seems like Microsoft is also preparing a Fortnite-edition console with a custom Fortnite design.

In addition to the discless Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, we’ve heard Microsoft may be gearing up to announce a Fortnite-edition console with a custom Fortnite design, rather than a simple game bundle. It’s unclear whether the Fortnite console would be a regular S, an X, or a discless version at this time, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we know more.

As all this has yet to be confirmed officially, we must take everything with a grain of salt until official confirmation comes in. We will keep you updated on the matter as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
