Towards the end of last year, I wrote a piece about Judgement and it’s pending release date. Judgement, the game is formerly known as Judge Eyes and before that called “the artist formerly known as Prince”, aka Project Judge, finally has a solid release date. In other words, it’s time for me to start getting excited for a particular day of the year that isn’t [insert release date of annual Football Manager game here].
This year, the day that I get to now build up in anticipation is June the 25th.
Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku studios, developers of the excellent Yakuza series, this is a game that takes place within the same universe as the aforementioned series and promises the same over the top action and excellent storytelling, characters and world building. It’s been well received over in Japan, receiving high scores – I understand the numbers but not the text, so they may have tricked me – and that has only interested me more.
Releasing in three and a half months, it will be coming both digitally and physically for the PlayStation 4, with the game featuring dual audio, meaning purists can listen to the Japanese audio with English subtitles. The boxed version will also feature a reversible cover with the original cover art.
All I can say is that SEGA are releasing yet another game I’m looking forward to, including the obvious Total War: Three Kingdoms and aforementioned and unannounced Football Manager. Roll on June!
