Apple has already started to send invites for its March 25 “It’s Show Time” event. It has been speculated quite heavily that the company will launch its premium magazine subscription service. However, before the event shares light on the incoming service, developer Steve Troughton-Smith has shared a few screenshots which detail the code found in macOS 10.14.4 beta. From the shared snippets, the developer coins that the magazines offered on the Apple News app will be based on PDF. In addition, these files can be stored locally so it is available offline. Furthermore, it has also been discovered that users will be notified when there will be a new issue of the magazines which users have read. The company will seemingly call the service as “Apple News Magazine”
The upcoming magazine subscription platform will be a lot similar to Texture, a company which the Cupertino giant acquired last year. Since Texture is already available on the App Store, it is unclear at this point if Apple will remove it once its Apple News Magazine service is available. texture currently offers a $9.99 per month subscription fee.

In another report, it was stated that Apple is asking for 50 percent of the total revenue generated from publishers. While the demand is indeed pretty high, some publishers have embarked or signed up for the service. Other than this, the details are pretty scarce.
