Huawei P30 and P30 Pro leaked specs reveal powerful camera setups

The Huawei P30 series is scheduled to be announced later this month on March 26th and there has already been plenty of leaks. We’ve seen early renders, real-life photos of prototypes, and leaked press renders. Now, we have press renders of the Huawei P30 Pro in new colors and more information about the camera setups on both devices.

We’ll start with the new color that is allegedly called “Amber Sunrise.” This is a very striking orangish red. it appears to have a slight gradient, but it looks like most of the color effects are from the high gloss reflections. The P30 Pro’s Amber Sunrise color will go along with Midnight Black, Breathing Crystal (white), and Aurora (blue/green).

Now for more details about the three rear cameras. Huawei is currently sitting atop the DxOMark rankings with two phones, so we know the company has great cameras. The P30 Pro has a Leica triple camera setup on the rear. The main camera is 40MP f/1.6 with OIS. Then there is a 20MP f/2.2 wide-angle camera. The third camera has the “periscope” zoom system with a focal length equivalent to 135mm. That gives the camera an optical magnification of 7.8x and software can take it up to 10x. The resolution of the zoom camera is 8MP.

Underneath the dual LED flash and laser autofocus is a time-of-flight sensor, which is capable of capturing 3D depth information. Sticking with the cameras, there is a single 32MP camera on the front in the waterdrop notch.

The Huawei P30 is the smaller device, but it also has a triple rear camera setup. The main sensor is also 40MP with an f/1.8 aperture. The wide-angle camera is 16MP f/2.2, and the zoom camera is 8MP. The zoom camera on the P30 doesn’t have quite the fancy tech as the P30 Pro, but it still can achieve 5x hybrid zoom. The P30 has the same 32MP front camera well. Here are the tentative specs for both phones:
