Just a few days after the announcement of Google Stadia, Apple today announced Apple Arcade, their game subscription service that will feature over 100 new and exclusive games. It will include original releases from renowned creators Hironobu Sakaguchi, Ken Wong, Will Wright and dozens more. Apple Arcade will allow users to choose from a selection of over 100 titles without having to pay for each one individually.
Every game includes access to the full game. That includes all game features, content and future updates. Every game will be playable offline, and compatible games will offer support for game controllers. Apple Arcade games are playable across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. It means that users can pick up where they left off in a game, even if they switch devices.
Apple is also contributing to development costs and working with creators. Some of the developers include the likes of Annapurna Interactive, Bossa Studios, Cartoon Network, Finji, Giant Squid, Klei Entertainment, Konami, LEGO, Mistwalker Corporation, SEGA, Snowman, Ustwo games and dozens more. Apple Arcade will launch in fall 2019 in more than 150 countries from a new tab on the App Store across iOS, macOS and tvOS.
