It seems as we inch closer and closer to the Galaxy S10 launch, more details about each smartphone starts to unravel. This time, it’s the 6.1-inch Galaxy S10, and it will be smaller than the Galaxy S10 Plus. According to the latest info, the selfie camera of the Galaxy S10 will be a 10MP sensor. While 10 megapixels are more than sufficient to capture a detailed image from the front-facing shooter, the other features also improve the image-snapping experience, and if these slits of information are to be believed prior to the official announcement, selfie enthusiasts are going to love what the upcoming flagship has to offer.
Galaxy S10 Also Reportedly Offering 4K Video Recording Support From the Front Camera
An anonymous tipster provided GSMArena with some tantalizing information related to the feature set belonging to the Galaxy S10’s 10MP selfie camera. As most of you know thanks to the leaked press renders, the Galaxy S10 will house a single front-facing camera using Samsung’s punch-hole display approach. That single 10MP sensor will also get 4K video recording support with optical image stabilization, or OIS.
It will be interesting to see how the sensor holds up when stabilizing 4K footage, as some high-end phones are able to record stabilized 1080p videos, but there is considerable camera shake when the resolution is increased. Also, the slow-motion feature has improved; the new phones will be able to capture 0.4-0.8 seconds of super-fast slow-motion recording instead of 0.2-0.4 seconds.
There is more useful information surrounding the Galaxy S10; the battery endurance. Interestingly enough, Samsung has reportedly incorporated a generous 4100mAh cell inside the 6.1-inch flagship, so users should experience at least a whole day’s worth of battery life. The in-screen fingerprint reader, according to the tipster, will be faster than the conventional in-display scanners, suggesting that Samsung could be using the ultrasonic variant of readers with its new lineup.
The new displays belonging to the newer handsets will not support a 3D touch bottom area that the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 8, and Galaxy Note 9 family featured, but the Galaxy S10 range will still wake up with a simple tap of your finger. As for the color options, the Galaxy S10 will reportedly be arriving in White, Black, and Teal flavors, with a Vivid Blue option that will be sold in certain markets.
Earlier, leaked pricing details revealed that the Galaxy S10 is not going to be a cheap handset, and this isn’t even the top-tier model that Samsung will launch on February 20. The Unpacked event is less than two weeks away, and we’ll have all the announcements ready for you at launch. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope the unveiling will be an exciting one.
