This year is an exciting year for Samsung, as the OEM marks 10 years of its super-successful Galaxy S flagship lineup. Consequently, Samsung is also refreshing and rebranding its smartphone lineup for 2019 to be more in rhythm with a “10” numbering scheme. We’ve seen the OEM launch the Galaxy M10 and M20 in India, and new leaks suggest that the company will soon launch three new phones in the refreshed Galaxy A series: Samsung Galaxy A10, Samsung Galaxy A30 and Samsung Galaxy A50.

The specifications of the phone have been leaked by MySmartPrice. According to this leak, the biggest change with the upcoming Galaxy A-series (2019) is Samsung’s decision to go back to plastic bodies. While a smartphone with a plastic body does have its own pros and cons, the competition has long switched over to glass sandwich designs, even in the budget segment. Depending on how Samsung executes it, the competition may just have a field day with their more “premium” designs.
The Samsung Galaxy A10 will clearly be the cheapest of the trio, while the Galaxy M50 will be the most expensive, based on the specification sheet. There are a lot of individual peculiarities with each of the phones, but since this is a leak, we are refraining from being very critical. Past leaks of the Samsung Galaxy A50 have mentioned the in-display fingerprint sensor, waterdrop notch, triple rear cameras as well as the battery capacity, all of which is inline with the current leaks. There is some discrepancy with the rear camera’s main sensor, so we will have to wait and see how that plays out.
While the Galaxy M-series will focus on online sales, the Galaxy-A series is expected to take the offline front. Depending on how Samsung prices these phones, we might see an interesting year for India’s sub-₹25,000 segment.
