We’re just a couple of weeks away from Samsung Unpacked 2019 and the unveiling of the Galaxy S10 line. We’ve known for a long time that Samsung is launching multiple Galaxy S10 phones this year. We’re expecting three 4G models and a Special Edition 5G model, plus the foldable phone. Most of our attention has been on the mid-size Galaxy S10 and larger Galaxy S10+, but now we’re getting a closer look at the smaller Galaxy S10e.
Previously, the smallest model was being referred to as the “Galaxy S10 Lite,” but new reports suggest the device will be called the “Galaxy S10e.” This device will be the smallest and most affordable of the bunch. WinFuture.de has shared leaked renders of this model in the same three colors we saw yesterday for the bigger models: Black, Teal, and White. Not pictured is the previously rumored “Canary Yellow” color that is said to be exclusive to the Galaxy S10e.
There are several key differences between this smaller model and its bigger siblings. The display is 5.8-inches, does not have curved edges, and has a punch hole for a single front camera. Rather than an in-display fingerprint scanner, this model has it on the right side, doubling as the power button. On the rear, there are only two cameras. The battery is 3,100 mAh and RAM/storage is 6/128GB. Price is rumored to be around €750.
With nearly identical guts as the larger models, this smaller and more affordable device could be a very hot product for Samsung. Not everyone wants a giant device. The mid-size Galaxy S device has traditionally been one of the better “small” phones on the market, but the Galaxy S10e takes that even further. One thing is for sure, there will be no shortage of options for Samsung Galaxy S10 fans.
