Samsung Galaxy S10 render shows the device wirelessly charging the new Galaxy Buds

The Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup will mark the 10th generation of Samsung’s dominance in the Android flagship market, and the Korean OEM is ensuring that there is simply no stone left unturned when it comes to features for the devices. The Galaxy S10 will be the best Samsung device to date, especially when you look beyond the mere annual spec upgrade.

Along with the Galaxy S10, Samsung is also looking to launch an AirPods competitor in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Buds, which can be seen as spiritual upgrades of the Samsung Gear Icon X wireless earbuds. Now, leaked renders give us a much clearer look at what to expect.

In this image, you can see the Galaxy Buds sitting in their case, which is placed on top of the Samsung Galaxy S10. If you look closely, you can spot the green charging indicator lit up on the carrying case, indicating that the Samsung Galaxy S10 is wirelessly charging the Galaxy Buds. This reaffirms previous rumors that the Galaxy S10 will feature reverse wireless charging. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro already supports reverse wireless charging, so it is logical for Samsung’s greatest smartphone to match the feature set that the competition offers.

Samsung Gear Icon X – Wingtips

The completely wireless earphones are not shown off from all angles, but we can see that they lose out on the large wingtips that the Gear Icon X featured. It remains to be seen how this design change affects the earphones and their ability to remain within the ear without falling off. The Apple AirPods do a decent job at staying within the ear, so Samsung will have to ensure that these perform better than Apple’s offering.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds are expected to cost €149. The Buds will be launched alongside the Samsung Galaxy S10 series at the Samsung Unpacked event scheduled for February 20, 2019.
