While the Motorola Moto G7 series has been leaked to the moon and beyond, the same cannot be said about Motorola’s flagship Moto Z4 lineup. The Moto Z4 with its codename as “Odin” is expected to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and will come with support for a 5G Moto Mod. On the other hand, we have just seen renders of the Moto Z4 Play, with other details about key specifications of the device remaining unknown until now.
Now, according to 91Mobiles, the new Moto Z4 Play is expected to come with a 6.22-inch Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch and minimal bezels. The Moto Z4 Play will be the first device from Motorola to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone will be powered by the 11-nm Qualcomm SM6150 processor, with RAM options of 4GB and 6GB, and storage options of 64GB and 128GB. The phone will come with a 3,600 mAh battery and will run Android Pie.
For the camera, the Moto Z4 Play will boast of a 48MP rear sensor, which according to 91Mobiles, will be Q Technology’s S5KGM1SP sensor instead of being a Samsung or Sony sensor. While 91Mobiles’s source did not mention anything about multiple rear cameras, the previously leaked renders showcase only a single shooter on the back and the front. The renders also showed off the magnetic pins for Moto Mod support, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. The Moto Z4 Play will also sport a bezel-less design, bringing it at par with current generation flagships and other upcoming releases in terms of design, but with the added advantage of diverse use-case scenarios through the Moto Mod platform that is sold separately.
The Moto Z4 Play is expected to be launched in the first half of 2019.
