Capcom COO:” Expansion Of PC Platform Cannot Be Overlooked”; Sales Ration Of PC Versions Is Constantly Improving

Capcom

In the past few years, several Japanese publishers have been releasing more and more PC ports of their latest console games. Capcom is among them, and it seems like we should expect this policy to continue in the future.

A message from chief of operations Haruhiro Tsujimoto has been recently shared on Capcom’s Official Japanese Website. In the message, the COO mentions PC gaming, stating that expansion of the platform cannot be overlooked, as the sales ration of the PC versions of Capcom games has been increasing every year.

The PC release of Monster Hunter World has helped the game exceeding 11 million units, as the publisher detailed earlier this month, with the performance of the Steam version having been described as strong.

In this business, the Monster Hunter series served as the driving force in improving the Company’s business performance. Feature title Monster Hunter: World (for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) was a phenomenal success in the previous fiscal year, and continued to maintain popularity through the expansion of its user base, while the strong performance of the Steam version for PC boosted profits.

The next big Capcom title to release on PC in the next few days is Devil May Cry 5, the first new main entry in the series in eleven years.
