Xiaomi Mi 9 Reportedly Passes 3C Certification and Supports 27W Fast-Charging, According to Leaked Details

Xiaomi Mi 9

The Xiaomi Mi 9 leaks were put on hold for a short period, but we’re glad that they have resumed. In the era of ultra-premium flagships, the Mi 9 will offer a significant amount of value while giving away attractive features for the customer. One of those features is reportedly the promise of ultra-fast-charging, and according to the latest 3C certification leak, customers who purchase the flagship should be able to top up the battery at an incredible rate.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Earlier Rumored to Feature Sony’s 48MP Camera Sensor – Might Also Get Qi Wireless Charging Support

According to the 3C certification details, the maximum wattage the listed device can support is 27 watts. MyDrivers reports that since the previous-generation Xiaomi Mi 8’s model number was M1803E1T/A, the M1902F1T/A can be associated with the upcoming Mi 9. Supporting fast-charging up to 27 watts can also mean the flagship will be impressive in other categories too, such as the hardware specifications.

No doubt Xiaomi will be using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC, but it is unlikely that the Mi 9 will get 5G support. The Chinese giant earlier teased to launch the 5G-ready version of its Mi MIX 3 and to remind you, it is Xiaomi’s first premium offering to get a sliding camera mechanism. Launching the Mi 9 with an embedded 5G modem might cannibalize the sales of the Mi MIX 3 since the Mi 9 is expected to be sold for a cheaper price.

Previously, it was Xiaomi’s CEO that teased an in-display fingerprint reader on a smartphone that covered nearly the entire display. The device in question was not teased but since it did not feature a sliding camera, it can be assumed the CEO was showing off one of the many features belonging to the Mi 9. A previous rumor stated that the flagship will have a triple camera setup at the back, including Sony’s 48MP sensor. However, the same rumor stated that the smartphone will get 32-watt fast-charging support but it will not be compatible with Qi wireless charging.

A lot of features belonging to the Mi 9 could be teased in the future and we could just be scratching the surface of what’s to come. The MWC 2019 trade show will happen next month, and it’s possible Xiaomi makes an appearance there and teases the Mi 9 and its endless slew of advantages.

Do you think the flagship will have sufficient firepower, features, and a competitive price tag to give enough competition to the likes of Samsung? Tell us your thoughts down in the comments.
