The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 4 Release Date Revealed

The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 4 has a release date, and it’s coming sooner than you might think. Telltale recently announced they were shutting down and cancelling all future projects, including the remaining two episodes of The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Thankfully, Skybound Games, a new studio founded by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, stepped in to finish the season. Word was Episode 3 (which  just came out today) was largely finished before the Telltale shut down, so there was some concern the wait for Episode 4 may be a long one.

Thankfully, it seems that won’t be the case. According to a newly-updated The Final Season title screen, Episode 4, entitled Take Us Back, is coming on March 26.

It’s sad The Walking Dead: The Final Season ended up being Telltale’s last project, as it’s some of their best work. I gave Episode 1 a 9, Episode 2 a 7, and Episode 3 an 8.5. Here’s an excerpt from my Episode 3 review:

“The Walking Dead was well-worth saving. The usual Telltale caveats about polish and quick time action scenes apply, but this is exciting, powerhouse storytelling, packed with fantastic character work and edge-of-your-seat cinematic moments. The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 3 lines up the sights for a bloody good finale – let’s hope Skybound nails the headshot.”

No hint from the folks at Skybound Games about what might happen in Episode 4 yet, but based on the first three chapters of The Final Season, a happy ending is far from guaranteed for Clementine and AJ. Fingers crossed, but you might want to keep some Kleenex handy when you boot up the last episode in March.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. The PC version is now exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
