Ever since the launch of the original Moto G in 2013, Lenovo’s Motorola Moto G series has been a highly anticipated release. While the newer versions of devices in this lineup have strayed away from the original philosophy of the Moto G, the new release continue to add flavor to the saturated market across a wide price range.
For the first half of 2019, Motorola plans to release a total of four devices in the G7 lineup: the Moto G7, the Moto G7 Plus, the Moto G7 Play and the Moto G7 Power. And now, device renders for all of these devices have been leaked by @OnLeaks and MySmartPrice, giving us the clearest look yet at all the upcoming devices from Motorola.
Moto G7 Play – Codename “channel”
The Moto G7 Play will be the most affordable smartphone in the entire lineup, starting at €149 (~$170/₹12,000) in some European markets, and will come in Gold and Blue colors. The device will sport a wide notch and a bottom bezel with the Motorola branding on it. The fingerprint scanner is present on the back of the device, likely underneath the “M” batwing logo. There’s only a single rear camera on the device. The Moto G7 Play will feature the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC and a 3,000 mAh battery, as was made known through our previous coverage.
Moto G7 Power – Codename “ocean”
The Moto G7 Power is expected to retail at €209 (~$238/₹17,000) in some European markets. The device will come in Black and Lilac Purple colors. The device looks similar to the Moto G7 Play, with its wide notch and single rear camera. While some sources mention that the Moto G7 Power will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, our own sources have mentioned that the phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC, along with a 5,000 mAh battery.
Moto G7 – Codename “river”
The Moto G7 will belong to the more “premium” set within the whole lineup, sporting a waterdrop notch and dual rear cameras, though the overall design will be similar to its family. Our sources had mentioned that the Moto G7 will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC, but others mention that the device will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. If it does sport the Snapdragon 660 SoC, there will not be too many differentiating factors between the Moto G7 and the Moto G7 Plus, so we’re inclined to go with our source which provides for a wider specification coverage to cover more price points. The Moto G7 will come in Black and White color options.
Moto G7 Plus – Codename “lake”
The Moto G7 Plus will be the most expensive smartphone in the lineup, and will come in Blue and Red colors in Europe. The design of the device is similar to the Moto G7. Our sources mention that the device will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC.
