Poweramp is arguably one of the most popular audio players for Android. While it’s user interface never turned any heads, it was the functionality that had users loving the app. Some of the unique features are powerful bass and treble controls, Hi-Res output support, DVC, lyrics support and so much more. To put it in short, it was a must-have application for all mobile audiophiles. It has previously received a long overdue update with a major UI overhaul. You can still tell that intuitive design isn’t the main focus of the app, but it’s much better than the earlier version from 2016.
The developer behind the app just published build 817 of Poweramp V3. The full changelog is quite verbose and detailed, but there are some major changes, too. The first one is Android Auto support. The developer is currently waiting for Google’s approval, so you’re gonna have to enable Unknown Sources in the developer settings of the Auto app for the time being.
Build 817 also includes improved Google Assistant support. You should now be able to use voice commands to play your favorite tracks of playlists without a problem. The update also features new options for Android Auto, list options, and shuffle order. Here is the full changelog:
