There was a time when we thought the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 wouldn’t get One UI, but Samsung quickly shot down that rumor. Since then, the One UI closed beta became available and we showed you how to install it. Samsung is finally rolling out the public beta for One UI (Android Pie) for Galaxy Note 8 users, starting with Korea and India.
The notice has been posted in the Samsung Members app for users to register for the One UI beta program. Currently, the notice is only showing up in Samsung’s home country of South Korea and India. The beta program for the Galaxy Note 9 also started in only a couple of countries, but it quickly expanded to more. The closed beta was also available for the Samsung Galaxy S8, so we should see the public beta for that device soon as well.
Of course, the update includes the bevy of new features and revamped UI of One UI, which have discussed at length. The update also brings the usual Android Pie goodies and the January security patches. The update comes in at nearly 2GBs. You can manually download and install the update from the forum thread below.
