Jailbreak 11.4 – 11.4.1 Using The Electra Jailbreak Tool Version 1.2.0 – Here’s Everything You Need To Know

Electra Team has surprisingly released an updated version of its tool with support to jailbreak iOS 11.4 and iOS 11.4.1. The latest Electra Jailbreak Tool has been updated to version 1.2.0 on Wednesday and it is the first tool to officially jailbreak the said firmware versions. Let’s dive in to see some more details on the subject.

Electra Jailbreak Tool Updated To Version 1.2.0 With Support To Jailbreak iOS 11.4 to iOS 11.4.1

The Electra Team announced the update on Twitter, emphasizing on the new exploit called voucher_swap. The exploit is more reliable compared to the conventional multi_path or VFS exploits, which users have been previously making use of. Check out the entire changelog of Electra 1.2.0 update with support for iOS 11.4 and iOS 11.4.1:

– Support iOS 11.4 – 11.4.1

– Add async_wake exploit to add support for iOS 11.0 – 11.1.2

– Use voucher_swap exploit instead of empty_list for iOS 11.2 – 11.4.1

– Add threadm1ll exploit as an option for iOS 11.2 – 11.4.1 users on A7 or A8 devices

– Fix overnight reboots

– Reverted app to git commit 9d9762bdf46f19c4082d82798af41ca273fb0e37 before all code was rewritten from there forward

Furthermore, Electra 1.2.0 features support for A10 and A11 devices. Previously, with tihmstar releasing an exploit for iOS 11.4 and iOS 11.4.1 device, a headphone jack was required to put the magic to work. This restricted the jailbreak to be applied to iPhone 7 and onwards with a compatible firmware. Electra 1.2.0, with the new voucher_swap exploit, has something to do with support for the A10 and A11 processors.

If you’re tech-savvy enough, you can use the hex editor to find “15A372-15E302” and replace it with “15A372-15G770” in the binary of electra1141 to fix app crashes on iOS 11.2.x. If you’re waiting for the official build to arrive, CoolStar says that an update will arrive in a few hours.

Interested users can get your hands on the new Electra 1.2.0, it can be downloaded from Electra Team’s official website. As a disclaimer, Electra Team suggests that users must delete any pending OTA software updates from the host device and install tvOS beta profile on the device before you head over to the next step and avoid potential errors.

There will be more to the story, so be sure to stay tuned in for more details on the matter. This is all for now, folks. What are your thoughts on the matter? Are you willing to run the latest Electra 1.2.0 to jailbreak iOS 11.4 or iOS 11.4.1? Share your views with us in the comments.
