The Epic Games Store debuted with much fanfare on PC as the developer known for Fortnite and the Unreal Engine promised a much better deal to publishers and developers when it comes to revenue split.
They’re also enticing customers to use the Epic Games Store by giving away free games once every two weeks such as Subnautica, Super Meat Boy and now What Remains of Edith Finch.
However, there was one aspect that customers criticized from the get-go: the refund policy. In order to request a refund, players had to go through a lengthy and needlessly complex process. Now, as revealed via Twitter by former SteamSpy creator and now Epic Games Director of Publishing Strategy Sergey Galyonkin, customers can enjoy the exact same conditions available on Steam. That means there are unlimited refunds with no questions asked as long as they are requested within two weeks of the game’s purchase and with less than two hours played.
The only hassle remains that refunds are still requested through player support, but Galyonkin said a self-service solution is on the way.
Epic also added support for 30 regions and a total of 130 countries with regional pricing. While the currency displayed on the store will still be US dollars for the time being, you’ll pay with your local currency.
