More characters will be coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ, the fighting game based on the popular manga and anime series developed by Arc System Works released last year on PC and consoles.
The Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 2 has been confirmed yesterday following the end of the Red Bull Final Summoning Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament. The new season will include six new characters, and four of them have been already confirmed.
The first two characters, Jiren from Dragon Ball Super and Videl, will be released later this week, on January 31st. Broly and Gogeta, both coming from the recent Dragon Ball Super: Broly, will be released at a later date. No detail has been provided for the remaining two characters.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is among the best fighting games released last year, thanks to its mechanics, which are easy to learn but harder to master, and a good amount of content.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is a game that does so much right. It’s a hardcore fighting game experience, as well as a more casual button masher. It’s a competitive fighter, as well as a Dragon Ball side story. Other Dragon Ball games have done Dragon Ball style mechanics better, Xenoverse’s 3D flight feels very authentic, but Dragon Ball FighterZ feels like the best of both worlds, and is one of the very best Dragon Ball games of all time. How the fighting meta will develop is another question entirely, and whether or not tournaments like EVO will allow DBFZ to join its ranks is still up for debate, but this is easily the most exciting new fighter I’ve played in a very long time.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in all regions.
