From the wave of rumors we’ve all been hearing about, it looks like Samsung is opening up on all cylinders in securing a Galaxy S11 launch as early in 2020 as it can. The latest development reveals that the Korean giant has apparently commenced Galaxy S11 software work for all three versions.
Galaxy S11 Software Development Is Reportedly Being Fine-Tuned for Models Entering the U.S. Market in 2020
A previous report stated that development work on Galaxy S11’s firmware had already started. This would imply that Samsung may launch a total of three new models in the U.S. during February 2020, as rumored before. Now, according to Max Weinbach, Samsung has apparently commenced the Galaxy S11 software development, possibly to unveil all three models as quickly as it can and gain a lead against the competition. While the tipster hasn’t provided any details concerning the release date timeline, he does state that all three models will apparently be 5G-ready.
That’s good news for customers who wanted to enjoy blazing-fast speeds before while connected to a 5G network. Still, there’s no telling how spread out 5G reception will be by various U.S. carriers, so we do expect some performance limitations, especially if you don’t live within a city. As for what’s going to fuel all three models in the U.S., it will most likely be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865.

Remember, the Snapdragon 865 is rumored to be sold in two variants; one with an embedded 5G modem and one without, so it’s possible the three Galaxy S11 models will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X55 modem, the same one that’s said to debut in the iPhone 12 family.
In different markets, the Galaxy S11 software might be fine-tuned to optimize performance and efficiency with the Exynos 9830 running. Max already stated earlier that Samsung’s upcoming flagship range will not feature an Exynos 990, implying that the newly announced SoC could most likely be used in the company’s Galaxy A series of smartphones.
We should expect Samsung to use its latest One UI 2.0 for all three models, which would explain why the company has reportedly kicked off Galaxy S11’s software development. At the same time, we highly recommend you treat this rumor with a pinch of salt and await further details from our side.
