Xbox Scarlett

The Xbox Scarlett is not going to feature a 4K camera, Microsoft confirmed.

Following the report on the leak regarding the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett published by Gizmodo, a Microsoft rep confirmed that the company is not developing any camera technology for its next-generation console and none has been delivered to developers in any form.

Yesterday’s report also talked about both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett computing power, saying that it will be the largest compute jump of any console generation. The leaker also mentioned that the two consoles will have a different approach to ray tracing.

Very little is currently known about the two consoles as of now. Of the PlayStation 5. we know that it will be powered by the third generation of AMD’s Ryzen line and that the GPU will support ray tracing.

The CPU is based on the third generation of AMD’s Ryzen line and contains eight cores of the company’s new 7nm Zen 2 microarchitecture. The GPU, a custom variant of Radeon’s Navi family, will support ray tracing, a technique that models the travel of light to simulate complex interactions in 3D environments.

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett consoles have yet to be fully unveiled. They will release sometime next year.
