The Witcher 3 Nintendo Switch Can Run At 60 FPS On Overclocked Consoles

The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch manages to run decently for the most part, but it's been discovered that performance can be improved considerably on an overclocked console.

In a new video shared by Modern Vintage Gamer, it's shown that The Witcher 3 can run close to 60 FPS in several areas on an overclocked Switch. Resolution is also reduced, but this is less of a problem in handheld mode.

The fact that The Witcher 3 can run close to 60 FPS on an overclocked Switch shows how a small hardware boost could do wonders. This also shows how a Switch Pro could make the difference, especially for AAA multiplatform games.

Yesterday, we reported that advanced graphics options in The Witcher 3 Nintendo Switch can be accessed through a mod. By changing the settings, the game can look much better than it does with vanilla settings.

Despite the graphics cuts, The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch is a solid port that makes no compromise on content.

There have been zero compromises in content, with only minor ones on visual fidelity, audio options and slower loading time than I’m used to. There’s little doubt to me that, when released,The Witcher 3 will be the best open-world game on the Nintendo Switch and, arguably, the best game in general on the Switch. How nice it will be to the battery, well that’s something I’ll have to figure out when I have the game and I’m constantly playing it whenever I’m on the go. When will that be? There’s no set date, the aim is still for a 2019 release. I, for one, can’t wait.

The Witcher 3 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
