The Project xCloud Public Preview has launched and Microsoft is now sending out invitations for its game streaming service.
Microsoft’s head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, took to Twitter to share the news. “Proud of the #ProjectxCloud team for launching the public preview – it’s an exciting time at Xbox”, he wrote. “Invitations are rolling out now and will continue over the coming weeks. We’re excited for all of you to help shape the future of game streaming.”
Project xCloud allows users to stream Xbox games to their mobile devices from the cloud. Please note that users participating in the Public Preview will require a device running Android version 6.0 or greater, as well as Bluetooth version 4.0. The service isn’t available for iOS users yet.
Following the release of the service’s public preview, the first footage from Halo 5 captured on a Samsung Galaxy S10 has surfaced online, courtesy of @Masterchiefin.
According to ‘Masterchiefin’, Halo 5 runs at 60FPS through xCloud and was streamed to his phone over his Wifi connection at home. The input lag is said to be moderate and not disturbing at all. Check out the footage down below:
