16-Inch MacBook Pro Reportedly Shows up in macOS Catalina 10.15.1 Beta in Two Color Options

16-Inch MacBook Pro Reportedly Shows up in macOS Catalina 10.15.1 Beta

Apple is expected to host an event at the end of this month where it’s tipped to announce new products such as an iPad Pro, AirPods Pro, and our personal favorite, a 16-inch MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro has been the subject of many rumors and now new pieces of evidence present in macOS Catalina 10.15.1 beta have been found which highlight some minor changes.

The 16-Inch MacBook Pro Design Doesn’t Look All That Different to a 15-Inch Version

It’s being reported that macOS Catalina 10.15.1 beta contains references to the 16-inch MacBook Pro. More specifically, it’s the code snippets in its first two betas that mention the device. That’s not all, as the code even contains the icons of the new laptop. These look a lot like the 15-inch MacBook Pro, which means the next generation will not get a major facelift, even though the display size would increase to increase to 16 inches when measured diagonally.

However, the icons are in line with reports that said that the new machine will have really slim bezels. This approach will allow Apple to increase the display size without increasing the footprint of the device. The 16-inch MacBook Pro icons also imply that it will be released in two paint jobs, namely Silver and Space Gray. It’s worth mentioning that it’s not difficult to fake code assets, so remember to treat it with a pinch of salt.

Expected 16-Inch MacBook Pro Specifications?

The 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to feature a scissor switch keyboard, which will reportedly be more reliable than the current butterfly keyboards. One leak also says that the upcoming laptop will also get a powerful 96W USB-C charger. Other than that, we can also expect the notebook to pack in high-end processors, such as Intel’s Coffee Lake CPUs.

Due to all these changes, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to cost more than its 15-inch counterpart, with one rumor stating that it could start from $3000. While Apple might unveil it this month, other reports state that there is a possibility that it wouldn’t be released until 2020. That’s because some outlets believe that Apple’s October event will not happen and it might refresh some key products next year.
